WHAT IS YOUR STORY?

WHAT IS YOUR STORY?

Hi, I'm Mary! Here’s mine…

Throughout the years, I’ve done a lot of artistic things. Painting, pottery, Etsy, event florals, and all variety of ridiculous craft projects. There's not a medium that I don't like! I’ve had opportunities to cultivate creativity in so many different forms, but after becoming a mother I am convinced that humanity itself is the most beautiful thing that exists.

My husband found me my first film camera at a Goodwill after we had just come home from a trip to see my great aunt and uncle. We’d spent hours flipping through their old photo albums, sitting around their coffee table as they told the story of their life together, their adventures, travels, family, and all the funny little things that popped up because a picture jogged a memory. My eyes got all teary because photographs capture the details of the many different seasons of life that make us who we are as individuals and that tell our unique stories.

That's when I began falling in love with photography as a medium. We then drove down the coast to visit family for Thanksgiving, and I filled that first roll of film with very lucky, gorgeous photos of Big Sur and my 3 year old nephew playing on the beach. They’re ones I’ll forever treasure.

I’m now a toddler mom and wife, equal parts Texan + Californian, calling Greenville, SC home. I love getting dirty, walking the Swamp Rabbit, working on my slew of ridiculous craft projects, making coffee for friends as they sit in my living room. Life is sweet. I am thankful.
